Keeping your passwords safe, straight and accessible, isn't always an easy thing to do. Having an application to help you do that is a good idea. Portable Password Manager Pro is such an application. Let's see if it’s the right one for you.

Password Manager Pro is designed to enable you to easily manage your user ID's and passwords. Whoever you are, you've got confidential data, especially if you are an active person on the internet. Most people likely have dozens of different user ID's and password to remember. Passwords for e-mail, PIN numbers for credit cards, debit cards and Internet bank accounts, and VPN passwords are just a few of the types of data that can be stored and tracked with Portable Password Manager Pro. It does an ok job, but there's nothing about it that really distinguishes it from other applications in this class, and it doesn't automatically insert credentials from its information store when needed.

Conclusion: The application's installation routine wants to put the executable and three other files in the root of your boot drive (or right in C:\).  You have the option to change the installation location, but then you have to go and find it and create your own short cuts for starting it up. Unless you keep it running the entire time you use your computer, you're going to need to bring it up every time you need to remind yourself of a password, and then the application won't auto fill your credentials in when you activate a particular program or visit a password protected website.

While the application is affordable enough at $9 for a Windows license and $10 for a Mac license, it seems the money would be better spent on an application that offered a better interface and auto filled in required information for you.
